So what is a niche?
Something special or different that you do – that is marketable – in your area of expertise. A niche is also a way to stand out on the Web. Maybe it’s a book you’ve written, or a group you like working with the best. In my case it’s small/micro businesses and solopreneurs who need a first or current website and sometimes a little extra help with Web technology.
Finding your niche
Your niche should be something that you are drawn to.
What are your skills and/or greatest interests? Is this something you can market? Is this something people will want to purchase?
There have been many, many articles written about this topic, so I won’t reinvent the wheel, other than to say if you want to stand out on the Web – that single niche – or even multiple niches – will make the difference when people search for someone who does what you do.
